Naturex, Avignon, France, has extended its partnership with Scalime Nutrition, also based in Avignon, to accelerate the marketing, commercial and technical development of Scalime Nutrition’s polyphenolic extracts. This range in­cludes extracts of onion and lettuce standardized to polyphenols, with high antioxidant activity, for the nutraceutical, cosmetic and food industries. A complete acquisition by Naturex is expected in the near future, according to the company.

In other news, Naturex has changed the name of its “Actifs Innovants” Division—previously a division of Berkem—to NAT’ Life. Recently purchased by Natur­ex at the beginning of 2008, NAT’ Life offers a line of innovative trademarked plant extracts. Along with scientific support, the NAT’ Life team proposes full concepts with project development assistance; offers regulation support by constituting European regulatory files for each ingredient; and markets valuable, clear and simple sources of information for clients and customers.
